Each of our plans has a monthly limit for API requests.
We know that it can be hard estimating your usage. We suggest you try out the plan that looks most suitable. If you find that your real-world usage is different from what you expected, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time.
If you go over the monthly quota for your plan we’ll be in touch to discuss options. To ensure continuity of service, we won’t automatically restrict your quota.
If you find that you consistently use less than your quota you can downgrade to a plan with a smaller quota.
The Hobby Project plan provides you with a way to test our product. Upgrading to the Solo Developer plan provides you with a 900% increase in tile requests.
We count individual HTTP requests to our APIs. Each time you request a map tile image with our Map Tiles API that counts as a request. Static Map API requests and Vector Tiles API requests count as 10 Map Tile API requests.
Converting from page views per month into tiles per month depends hugely on the size and prominence of the map on your site or in your app.
As a rough guide, a typical page view will lead to around 15-20 map tiles being loaded. This number will increase if your customers use your map full screen, or to pan or zoom.
Low numbers of page views may still lead to fairly high usage statistics, depending on the behaviour of your map users.
If your usage statistics are unexpected please contact us to ask for more details. We can investigate further, looking at the technical details of each request to make sure everything is in order.
Usually, we find that there is a reasonable explanation for the number of tile requests made on your website or app. It is very rare that these are the result of fraudulent activity. We take your security seriously.
We’ll continue to provide you with a service, so your users remain unaffected. You’ll receive an email asking you to upgrade to a higher plan.
If the usage spike is a one-off, please contact us to discuss.
Some of our customers expect more map usage in the summer than in the winter and vice versa.
In this case, simply upgrade for high season and downgrade for low season. We make it easy for you to do so.
You can check your usage statistics at any time by logging in to your account. You’ll see API requests for any given day, with averages.
We purposefully offer competitive pricing for a reliable, hands-on service. So we can continue to provide good value-for-money to all our customers, we can’t offer further discounts.
To upgrade from our free hobby plan, you’ll first need to add your card details and an invoice address.
